A Trade Name is a title that grants the exclusive right to use any sign or denomination as an identifier of a company in the commercial trade.

Trade names, as industrial property titles, are independent from company names registered in the Mercantile Registers and, therefore, must be registered separately. The duration of protection of trade names is ten years from the date of filing of the application and can be renewed indefinitely for equal periods.
