He called his colleague-competitor from Bell Labs to let him know the great achievement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.protectia.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/popular-science.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9368 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.protectia.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/popular-science.jpg\" alt=\"popular science\" width=\"204\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>During the same year (1973), the famous magazine \u201cPopular Science\u201d dedicated one of its covers to this amazing upcoming revolution.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2009<\/strong> he won the <strong>Prince of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific research<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>He runs Dyna LLC, an incubator for projects related to the development of telephone networks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As he explains, the principle was very simple: breaking the city into a lot of small areas, called \u201ccells\u201d and being able to move from one cell to another and having a continuous conversation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>What\u2019s important about any technology is that the technology is hopefully invisible but at least transparent and maybe intuitive<\/em>\u201d he says, and also that <strong><em>\u201cthe purpose of technology is to make your life better\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Martin Cooper obtained the patent in 1975, from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uspto.gov\/\">USPTO<\/a> (United States Patent and Trademark Office).
