{"id":6987,"date":"2014-02-06T09:01:53","date_gmt":"2014-02-06T09:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.protectia.eu\/portrait-european-patent-office\/"},"modified":"2014-02-06T09:01:53","modified_gmt":"2014-02-06T09:01:53","slug":"portrait-european-patent-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.protectia.eu\/en\/portrait-european-patent-office\/","title":{"rendered":"Portrait of the European Patent Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a few posts dedicated to various inventors from all over the world, this week we would like to talk about the European Patent Office, through a video developed by the same <a title=\"European Patent Office\" href=\"http:\/\/www.epo.org\/\">EPO<\/a> offering a nice portrait of it.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KYu0hbIeL5A?list=PLF9F2FAB5D4F230E8\" height=\"360\" width=\"640\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As the video fairly reminds us, <em>we live in a world of patents, bringing every day new ideas to make life easier.\u00a0<\/em><!--more-->The main task of the European Patent Office is precisely to judge whether these ideas actually adapt technical inventions that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Are <em><strong>new and unique<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li>Have <em><strong>potential application in industry<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li>Present <em><strong>inventive step<\/strong><\/em>: they are not obvious to someone with a good knowledge of the subject.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The mission of the EPO and its staff that bring people of over 30 nations is to stimulate innovation, competition and economic growth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The EPO<\/strong> is financially and politically independent, and <strong>is the second largest European Organization<\/strong>, working closely to European national offices and with major offices around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The strongest point of the EPO:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 15px;\"><em><strong>High quality standards and efficient services<\/strong><\/em> delivered under the European Patent Convention.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Highly skilled examiners<\/strong><\/em>, each one of them a specialist in their field, always up to date on the latest news in science and technology.<\/li>\n<li>To carry out <em><strong>patent searching activities<\/strong><\/em>, EPO\u2019s staff has access to the most powerful and accurate databases.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Accessibility<\/strong><\/em>: patents applicant can find their documents electronically, follow the online procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From Protectia Patentes y Marcas, we would like to congratulate the outstanding quality work of the European Patent Office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a few posts dedicated to various inventors from all over the world, this week we would like to talk about the European Patent Office, through a video developed by the same EPO offering a nice portrait of it.
