The winners of European Inventor Award 2014

The winners of European Inventor Awards 2014 were presented yesterday, 17th of June, among great expectations and general excitement for the big event, also called the “Oscar of technology”.

EPO`s Twitter profile has been flooded with messages, pictures and fragments of the award ceremony. “Whatever some critics may say, Europe is still a powerhouse of innovation”, and also “The European IP system is a positive example of what Europe is able to achieve when it pools its resources” said EPO’s president Benoit Battistelli.

European Inventor Award 2014: Nowinski and 3D brain atlas

The event of the European Inventor Award 2014 is getting closer: next 7th of June, in Berlin, will take place the ceremony which is going to announce the winner of the so called “Oscar of technology”.

For our “Patents world”, we are going to propose a video developed by the EPO (European Patent Office) presenting another of the finalists, competing under the “Lifetime achievement” category: Professor Wieslaw L. Nowinski, inventor of 3D brain atlas for medical use.

Professor Nowinski is the director of the Biomedical Imaging Lab at the institute of Engineering, Biopolis, Singapore. (more…)

European Inventor Award 2014: the father of 3D printing among the finalists

Every year it takes place one of the most important events regarding innovation and technology: the European Inventor Award (also known as the Oscar of Technology), which brings together some of the world’s brightest innovators along with their inventions.

This year is the ninth ceremony, and it will take place next 17 of June in Berlin. Considering the upcoming date, we have decided to present for our “Patents world” section a video developed by the EPO about one of the great finalists: Charles W. Hull, from USA, the father of 3D printing and creator of the company 3D Systems, Inc.
