International design is encompassed in a registration system which includes countries adhering to the Hague Convention. This system offers the possibility of protection in several countries, with the same effects as an application for drawings and designs registration has in each of the designated countries by filing a single application before the WIPO International Office in a single language.
Consequently the filing costs are lowered and processing times reduced, it is therefore highly recommended when one has an interest in several member countries of this convention.
